Project Overview

Gumbalm is a retro-inspired pop lip balm display designed to evoke the nostalgic feel of classic gumball machines while showcasing a fun, collectible range of lip balms. The concept transforms everyday lip care into an engaging retail experience, blending playful design with functional product presentation.

Process

For the pop display template, I followed the provided structural and design guidelines to ensure accurate proportions, stability, and proper assembly of all components. This required carefully reviewing the layout before transferring it to the final material. Once printed, I used an X-Acto knife to precisely cut out each section, making sure to stay within the template lines for clean edges and accurate folds. After all the pieces were cut, I carefully assembled the display by aligning tabs and folds according to the guide, securing each section to create a sturdy, finished structure that matched the intended gumball-themed design.

For the lid containers, I designed them to resemble mini gumball machines to reinforce the retro theme of the project. I followed the template guidelines closely to ensure the proportions and cut lines were accurate so the pieces would fit together properly once assembled. After printing, I carefully cut out each component using an X-Acto knife, paying close attention to smaller curved sections to keep the shapes clean and consistent. I then folded and assembled the pieces step by step, securing the structure so it formed a stable gumball machine–style lid. This added a playful, cohesive finishing detail that ties directly into the overall Gumball concept.

For the lip balm container labels, I followed the provided design guidelines to ensure consistency with the overall Gumball theme and proper sizing for each container. I carefully adjusted the artwork to fit the label template, making sure all text and graphics were centered and readable at a small scale. Once finalized, I printed the labels and used an X-Acto knife to neatly cut them out with clean, precise edges. I then wrapped each label around the lip balm containers, aligning them carefully so the seams were straight and the branding looked uniform. This step helped tie the whole product together and reinforced the cohesive retro gumball aesthetic across all the lip balms.
